Precision Rifle Courses

1 Day ​technical skills class.

This course is designed for the introductory level rifle shooter to introduce the working fundamentals of practical long range marksmanship and equipment needed. Participants in this course will come away with the knowledge needed to make educated consumer purchases of precision rifle equipment. 

This 1 day course is mostly classroom lecture. Non live fire. No equipment is needed. 

2.5 Day ​technical skills course.

This course is designed to improve and hone precision shooting skills for all experience levels. Course covers firearms safety, prone shooting positions, marksmanship fundamentals, ins and outs of your rifle, internal ballistics, external ballistics, data book familiarization, spotter responsibilities, range estimation techniques and scope theory. You will have your rifle/ammo chronographed and will receive a ballistic computer generated data card out to 1054 yards which will be shot for verification. 

 1 Day sustainment course for LR2 graduates. 

It is not uncommon for a LR2 graduate to have a break in their training post graduating LR2, or simply not have enough time behind their rifle to establish a solid base line of fundamentals to build. Similarly, some LR2 graduates go home and practice new concepts and simply want to be coached using their new techniques.  Also, if you haven't shot all Winter long, this is a great way to kick-start the new shooting season.  This class is intended as a follow up for LR2 graduates for just these types of situations. Instead of introducing new subjects, this class reinforces topics taught in LR2, introduces new short and long range drills, and goes more deeply into specific topics we only scratch the surface on in LR2 (such as ballistic computer set up and rifle cleaning). 

 2 Day ​technical skills course. - Serious shooters only!

This live fire intensive course, builds upon your experienced working knowledge of long range shooting.

A review of subjects covered in our Long Range Basic (LR2) course, plus :

• Supported and unsupported alternative shooting positions.
• Using scope reticles for hold overs and leads.
• Multiple target engagement techniques.
• Low light conditions.
• Angular shooting techniques.
• Field exercises.

 1 Day ​technical skills class. 

This live fire intensive course builds upon your experienced working knowledge of long range shooting. The clinic begins in the classroom, covering safety and the theory behind hitting moving targets and then quickly moves to the firing line where most of the day is spent.  

1 Day ​technical skills class. 

This course is a combination of scientific data collection in a controlled laboratory type setting and data analysis while using technology to calculate accurate firing solutions to increase 1st round hit probability. If you want to learn how to SAVE TIME AND MONEY gathering DOPE, you should get in on this course.  The focus will be on the technical capabilities of your rifle, optics, and ammunition and building/trueing trajectories using ballistics software. 

1 Day ​technical skills class. 

Hand Loading Fundamentals for Long Range Marksmanship
This course will provide the knowledge and techniques for students to build match grade ammunition.  Students will be able to reproduce the techniques taught in this class to produce match grade center fire ammunition which performs better than factory match grade ammunition.  We will demonstrate the equipment and techniques that typically produce ½ moa or better results and single digit muzzle velocity standard deviations across a number of different cartridges. 

Introduction to PRS/NRL style competitions.

1 Day ​technical skills course.

MTC Staff instructors, will introduce precision rifle shooters to typical PRS/NRL style match format, rules and regulations, how to prepare, what to bring to a match, and gain experience running through 4-6 stages with instruction on key elements of these stages.
